The Hon. Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development of the Federal Republic of Nigeria H.E. Senator Aisha Alhassan, who graced the occasion with her presence, joined the Ambassador of Finland Pirjo Suomela-Chowdhury in stressing the importance of promoting gender equality and the empowerment of women on 8 March, and on every day of every year, in Nigeria and all over the world.

The reception followed a full day of programme at the National Centre for Women Development, where a Consultative Forum 'Planet 50-50 by 2030: Step It Up for Gender Equality' was held on the same day.
