An extensive ICT trade mission from Finland visited Nigeria from 24 to 29 April 2016.
The aim of the mission was to bring together advanced Finnish telecoms and ICT expertise, to present and offer solutions and services for operators and digital service providers in Nigeria. Seven Finnish companies took part in the mission that was organized by the Finnish Trade Promotion Office (Finpro) in Lagos, headed by Trade Commissioner Olu Raheem.
Apart from a wide range of businesses, amongst them operators, banks and telecoms vendors, the delegation, headed by the Ambassador of Finland to Nigeria, Pirjo Suomela-Chowdhury, also had the opportunity to meet the Hon. Commissioner for Science and Technology of Lagos State, Mr Olufemi Odubiyi.
The immense potential in the ICT sector between Finland and Nigeria became very clear during the delegation’s discussions, meetings, and active networking, and many new concrete business opportunities were created.
A follow-up mission is already being planned for later this year that will bring back the same companies and more to Nigeria.
